Nestled in Cleveland, Georgia, Truett McConnell University stands as a private institution dedicated to providing a transformative educational experience. Established on July 23, 1946, and opening its doors in September 1947, Truett-McConnell College initially offered two-year liberal arts degrees. A pivotal moment arrived in December 2002 when it gained approval to confer four-year degrees, rapidly expanding its academic portfolio. Today, students can pursue thirteen bachelor's degrees across fields such as Business, Christian Studies, English, Education, History, Humanities, Music, Science, and Global Studies. The university further embraced modern learning by introducing approved online degrees in Business and Christian Studies in 2010, reflecting its adaptability and commitment to accessibility.

The university has witnessed remarkable growth, reversing an earlier enrollment decline to reach over 2100 students across residential, commuter, online, and ACCEL programs. This expansion has been supported by significant campus development, including additions to the Miller Building, new student housing, and an expanded dining hall. Recent projects include a new Student Recreation Center and plans for a chapel, fine arts facility, and additional academic buildings, all contributing to a dynamic and modern student experience.

In 2016, the institution officially changed its name to Truett McConnell University, signaling its expanded scope and offerings. While experiencing continuous growth and development, the university also recently faced an administrative change in 2025, with an acting president appointed during an investigation, underscoring its ongoing journey and commitment to its community.
