Union University

Union University boasts a rich and complex history, originating from the Jackson Male Academy founded in 1823. This deep lineage showcases a continuous commitment to education in West Tennessee, overcoming significant national challenges. Initially serving as a preparatory school for affluent students, its evolution reflects the changing educational landscape of the region.

Throughout the 19th century, the institution demonstrated remarkable resilience.
