United Tribes Technical College (UTTC) stands as a beacon of educational empowerment, uniquely established in 1969 by an association of North Dakota's native tribes. More than just a college, UTTC is a private tribal land-grant community college deeply rooted in its mission to serve and uplift indigenous communities. It's renowned for its pioneering spirit, particularly in making quality education accessible through innovative online programs.

UTTC's journey began with its charter in Bismarck, North Dakota, a testament to the tribes' commitment to self-determination and educational advancement. From gaining candidacy for accreditation in 1978 to achieving full membership with the North Central Association by 1982, the college steadily built a foundation of academic rigor. A significant milestone arrived in 1994 when it was designated a land-grant college, recognizing its dedication to community development and relevant, practical education.

Academically, UTTC excels in offering Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) degree programs designed to equip students with the skills needed for successful careers. Further solidifying its innovative approach, UTTC made history in 2003 as the first Tribal College to receive accreditation for its online programs, expanding access to higher education for a diverse student body, including its current enrollment of 885.
