The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAH-T) stands as a vital public community college, proudly part of the esteemed University of Arkansas System. Guided by its inspiring motto, "Your Bridge to the Future," UAH-T is dedicated to fostering student success and providing accessible educational pathways for a diverse community across its campuses in Hope and Texarkana.

UAH-T boasts a rich history, tracing its origins back to 1965 with the establishment of the Red River Vocational-Technical School. This foundational period underscored a deep commitment to practical, career-focused education. The institution evolved significantly, officially transforming into Red River Technical College on July 1, 1991, aligning with the Arkansas Department of Higher Education's guidelines and further solidifying its role in vocational and technical training.

A pivotal moment arrived in 1996, prompted by an Arkansas Legislature act encouraging the merger of state two-year colleges with universities. This transition was met with strong community backing, evidenced by Hempstead County citizens approving a 1/4-cent sales tax on March 5, 1996, to support the college's expansion. This local investment paved the way for Red River Technical College to become a division of the University of Arkansas System, officially renamed the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope on July 1, 1996, greatly enhancing its academic offerings and resources.

UAH-T's commitment to growth and regional service continued into the 21st century. In 2012, the college expanded its footprint, opening a significant instructional facility in Texarkana, Arkansas, spanning 22 acres. This strategic expansion cemented its role as a dynamic educational hub, ensuring enhanced opportunities and a clear pathway to success for students throughout the broader Hope and Texarkana region.
