The University of Bridgeport (UB) stands as a vibrant private institution in Bridgeport, Connecticut, uniquely positioned as the city's only university. Established in 1927, UB has grown into a diverse academic community serving over 5,000 students across more than 60 bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs. Originally founded as the Junior College of Connecticut, the first of its kind in the Northeastern United States, UB quickly addressed a critical need for higher education in the region.
