University of Detroit Mercy

University of Detroit Mercy stands as a beacon of education forged from a rich and distinctive history. It represents the powerful consolidation of two venerable institutions: the University of Detroit, founded by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), and Mercy College of Detroit, established by the Sisters of Mercy. The journey began in 1877 with the founding of Detroit College near downtown Detroit by the Society of Jesus.
