The University of Providence, known for its deep roots and commitment to accessible education, traces its origins back to 1932 as the Great Falls Junior College for Women. Founded through a collaborative effort between Catholic Bishop Edwin Vincent O'Hara, the Sisters of Charity of Providence, and the Ursuline Sisters, the institution quickly evolved, becoming coeducational in 1937. This rich history saw the union of two distinct Catholic educational endeavors, eventually solidifying under the direction of the Sisters of Providence.
