University of Valley Forge

The University of Valley Forge (UVF) is a private university rooted in a rich Christian heritage, dedicated to fostering both spiritual growth and academic excellence. Known for its dynamic evolution, UVF provides a supportive and engaging environment for students seeking to pursue higher education within a faith-informed community. Today, it stands as a comprehensive institution preparing graduates for meaningful careers and service.

UVF's journey began humbly in 1932 as a summer Bible School, established on the campgrounds of Maranatha Park to train individuals for various Christian ministries. Its formal charter in 1939 as Eastern Bible Institute marked the beginning of its institutional growth. Through strategic mergers with other Bible institutes, it expanded its reach and offerings, leading to a name change to Northeast Bible Institute in 1962, reflecting its growing influence.

A pivotal moment arrived in 1975 when the institution received state accreditation, becoming the Northeast Bible College. The following year, it moved to its current campus in Phoenixville, occupying the grounds of the former Valley Forge Army Hospital. This relocation led to another name change in 1977, becoming Valley Forge Christian College. Its commitment to academic rigor was further solidified in 2002 with accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, culminating in its official designation as the University of Valley Forge on September 16, 2014.

Today, UVF offers an impressive array of over 40 undergraduate programs and nine graduate programs, catering to diverse academic interests and career aspirations. With a current enrollment of 583 students, including 508 undergraduates, the university continues its legacy of developing leaders and professionals equipped to make a positive impact on the world, blending strong academic preparation with a vibrant Christian experience.
