It was formally chartered as the Eastern Bible Institute in 1939. Over the decades, through strategic mergers and continued growth, the institution expanded its reach and offerings, leading to name changes like Northeast Bible Institute and Northeast Bible College. A pivotal moment came in 1976 when the institution relocated to the expansive campus of the former Valley Forge Army Hospital in Phoenixville, adopting the name Valley Forge Christian College.
