The University of West Florida (UWF), established in 1963, has grown from an innovative upper-level institution to a comprehensive public university known for its commitment to student success and community engagement. Inspired by its "No Limit" motto and the resilient chambered nautilus emblem, UWF embodies continuous growth, change, and accomplishment, challenging students to expand their horizons both academically and personally.

Originally serving juniors, seniors, and graduate students, UWF quickly expanded its offerings and earned accreditation for its undergraduate programs by 1969.
