The university's rich history began in 1968 as Gateway College of Evangelism in Florissant, Missouri, born from the vision of the Missouri District of the UPCI. After decades of growth and dedication, the institution underwent a significant transition in 2012, when the Urshan Graduate School of Theology acquired Gateway College. This pivotal moment led to the formation of Urshan College, operating jointly with the graduate school under shared governance and leadership, strengthening its ties with the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI).
