Vance-Granville Community College

Vance-Granville Community College (VGCC) stands as a beacon of opportunity, fostering economic growth and providing accessible education across Vance, Granville, Franklin, and Warren counties. What began as a technical institute in 1968, officially established in 1969, rapidly transformed into a comprehensive community college. From its initial home in a renovated hospital, VGCC’s commitment to citizen empowerment led to a significant expansion, culminating in the opening of its main campus in 1976. This evolution underscores its pivotal role in the region's development.

Today, VGCC’s main campus is a picturesque educational hub, boasting nine permanent buildings, including a student services complex, civic center, and daycare unit, all nestled beside a scenic lake. Students can choose from over 35 curriculum programs, complemented by extensive offerings in continuing education, economic development, and small business support. The college prides itself on state-of-the-art facilities, featuring 36 classrooms, 10 shops, and 20 labs, including specialized areas like biotechnology, cosmetology, and computer labs, ensuring hands-on training for meaningful employment.

Beyond the main campus, VGCC extends its reach through three strategically located satellite campuses: South Campus in Granville County, Warren County Campus in Warrenton, and Franklin County Campus outside Louisburg. Each satellite campus is a vibrant learning environment, equipped with modern facilities and even hosting Early College high schools, demonstrating VGCC's dedication to serving its diverse communities. This widespread presence ensures that quality education and vocational training are within reach for thousands of students, making VGCC a cornerstone of regional learning.
