Vermont Law and Graduate School

Vermont Law and Graduate School embarked on its journey in 1972, quickly establishing itself as a dedicated hub for legal education. With its first classes commencing in the summer of 1973, the institution welcomed 113 eager students, laying the groundwork for what would become a robust academic environment. This rapid start underscored a commitment to fostering future legal professionals right from its inception in the scenic setting of South Royalton.

The school's foundational years were marked by swift progress and official recognition. By December 1973, Vermont Law and Graduate School earned certification from the Vermont State Board of Education, affirming its status as a legitimate institution of higher learning. This early validation paved the way for continued growth and the expansion of its academic offerings.

Further solidifying its standing, the school achieved provisional ABA accreditation, allowing a full complement of classes to be offered by the fall of 1975. This critical milestone ensured a comprehensive and respected legal curriculum for its students. The culmination of these formative years arrived in the spring of 1976, when Vermont Law and Graduate School proudly celebrated the graduation of its very first class, marking a significant achievement in its nascent history and cementing its place in legal education.
