Victor Valley College

Victor Valley College stands as a cornerstone of education and opportunity in Southern California's High Desert region. Established by public vote in 1960, the college quickly blossomed from its humble beginnings in a high school building into a sprawling 253-acre campus by 1965. This rapid development mirrors its commitment to serving the evolving needs of its community, providing accessible higher education close to home.

Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Victor Valley College embraced significant growth, continuously enhancing its facilities to keep pace with the increasing local population. Students benefit from a modern learning environment featuring an Advanced Technology Building, a state-of-the-art Planetarium, an expanded Performing Arts Center, and a comprehensive Gymnasium, among other improvements. These resources ensure a dynamic and enriching student experience across a diverse range of academic and vocational pursuits.

A testament to its forward-thinking approach, Victor Valley College established its first satellite campus in Apple Valley in 2012: the Regional Public Safety Training Center. This cutting-edge facility boasts 46,000 square feet of specialized classrooms and labs, complemented by "CERT City"—a unique outdoor prop area designed for realistic simulated emergency exercises. This focus on hands-on, career-specific training underscores the college's dedication to preparing students for vital roles in public safety and beyond, while plans for a future Workforce Development Center promise even more opportunities for skill-building and career advancement in West Hesperia.
