WAU's rich history is marked by a series of transformations, evolving from its original establishment as Washington Training College in 1904. It underwent several name changes over the decades, becoming Washington Foreign Mission Seminary in 1907, Washington Missionary College in 1914, and Columbia Union College in 1961, before finally adopting its current name in 2009.
