West Shore Community College, nestled between Ludington and Manistee in scenic Mason County, Michigan, truly embodies its guiding principle: 'Where students come first!' This public community college fosters a supportive and engaging environment for its vibrant student body of nearly 1,200, offering a personalized educational journey that prioritizes individual success.

The college's journey began in 1962 with forward-thinking high school superintendents envisioning a local community college. Officially established in 1967, West Shore started humbly, hiring part-time faculty for evening courses in local high schools. By 1970, the dedication of its first permanent structure, the Campus Center (now the Administrative Building), marked a significant milestone, paving the way for substantial growth from an initial enrollment of 118 students in 1968 to its thriving present-day community.

Committed to providing state-of-the-art resources, WSCC has continuously invested in its facilities. Students benefit from an 18,000 sq. ft. science wing, equipped for advanced hands-on learning, and the expansive 38,000 sq. ft. Schoenherr Campus Center, serving as a dynamic hub for student life and activities. Furthermore, the college extends its educational reach through the Manistee County Education Center, a collaborative initiative with West Shore Medical Center, offering specialized programs and access to broader community resources.
