Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC), established in 1966, serves as a vital public community college committed to providing accessible and career-focused education. This student-operated station provides invaluable broadcasting, audio production, and media operations experience, delivering local content and news to the Sioux City area. The college was approved to participate in NJCAA Division II athletics in men's basketball, women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, and competitive cheer, aiming to keep local talent engaged. The addition of competitive esports further broadens the student experience, catering to diverse interests. While the college faced challenges with its former J-1 Visa program, which has since been discontinued, WITCC remains focused on its core mission of delivering quality education and strong community ties, as evidenced by its Higher Learning Commission accreditation since 1977.
