About Williamson Christian College
Faith-driven education for business, leadership, and ministry in a close-knit community.
Welcome to Williamson Christian College, a unique private institution dedicated to shaping futures through faith-driven education. Founded in 1997 with the inspiring motto, "Equipping Minds, Engaging Hearts, and Following Christ," Williamson Christian College stands out for its focused academic strengths in business, leadership, and ministry. With a small, intimate student body of just 60, students benefit from a close-knit community and personalized attention, fostering an environment where individuals are truly known and nurtured.
The college's journey began in 1997, spearheaded by founder Kenneth Oosting, a former dean and educational consultant with a vision for transformative higher education in Williamson County, Tennessee. After receiving official approval and starting classes in 1998, Williamson Christian College earned its initial accreditation in 2002, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to academic excellence. Over the years, the college has seen dedicated leadership, with Ed Smith taking the helm as president in 2012, guiding the institution into a new era of growth and community engagement.
In 2012, the college relocated to its modern campus in Franklin's Cool Springs area, enhancing the student experience. The following year, the institution embraced a new identity, changing its name to Williamson College, reflecting its broader scope. Beyond traditional academics, Williamson College is deeply committed to community service, famously partnering with the Williamson County Sheriff's Office in 2014 to provide vital educational programs to inmates. This innovative spirit continued with the announcement of a second campus in Smyrna in 2018, strategically located to better serve veterans, local industry employees, and the surrounding communities with accessible, impactful education.
