Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (WGTC) stands as a vital public community college within the robust Technical College System of Georgia, dedicated to empowering students across an expansive eleven-county service area in south-central Georgia. Since its formation in 2010, WGTC has been a cornerstone for career-focused education, offering a diverse array of associate degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates of credit designed to meet the workforce needs of the region.

Born from the strategic merger of East Central Technical College and Valdosta Technical College on July 1, 2010, WGTC's establishment marked a significant milestone in the state's technical education landscape. Just months after its founding, WGTC was honored as the first recipient of the prestigious Governor Sonny Perdue Award for Technical College of the Year, underscoring its immediate excellence and commitment.

With a vibrant student body of over 6,100, WGTC ensures accessibility and convenience through multiple full campuses located in Valdosta, Fitzgerald, Douglas, and Sparks. Further expanding its reach, the college also provides classes at extended campuses, including one at Moody Air Force Base, and maintains Adult Education Centers in all eleven counties of its service area, offering essential basic education, GED, and ESL classes.
