Woodland Community College

Woodland Community College, a dynamic public institution, represents a remarkable journey of growth and commitment to accessible education. Officially achieving its initial accreditation in 2008, WCC has steadily built a reputation as a comprehensive college dedicated to serving its community and fostering student success. The college's roots stretch back to 1975, when it began as an outreach program, bringing essential courses directly to the community. This initial spark of commitment blossomed, leading to its designation as an official education center in 1981 by the California Postsecondary Education Commission. Further solidifying its presence, Woodland Center relocated to its current expansive 120-acre parcel of land in 1990, laying the groundwork for its future as a standalone institution.

The late 1990s and early 2000s marked a pivotal transformation. In 1999, the Yuba Community College District declared its intent for Woodland Center to become a self-sufficient community college, a testament to its proven impact and potential. The same year saw the opening of a Child Development Center on campus, reflecting the college's dedication to supporting its students and their families. This vision was realized in 2000 when the district received state approval to begin the center's evolution into a comprehensive college. By June 2008, after a rigorous accreditation process initiated in 2006, Woodland Community College proudly achieved initial accreditation, cementing its status as a vital educational hub for prospective students seeking quality instruction and a supportive learning environment.
