York County Community College, a vibrant public institution founded in 1994, stands as a beacon of opportunity in Maine. With a current student body of 1708, YCCC lives by its inspiring motto, "Find the Fearless You," fostering an environment where students are encouraged to discover their potential and carve out successful futures. Under the leadership of President Michael Fischer, the college remains dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality education.

What began as York County Technical College (YCTC) in 1994, established by the 116th Maine Legislature, quickly laid the groundwork for its significant impact. YCTC opened its doors in 1995 to an inaugural class of 156 students, initially offering three associate degree programs and two certificate programs, setting a strong foundation for vocational and academic excellence. This early commitment to student success paved the way for remarkable growth.

The college's dedication to quality was affirmed early on, earning candidacy accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges by December 1995, followed by full accreditation in 1999. Demonstrating continuous expansion, YCTC moved into a new building in November 1997, which was later expanded to accommodate its growing community. The institution officially rebranded as York County Community College in July 2003, reflecting its broader scope and commitment to comprehensive community education.
